Volunteers and Marshals

Previous

MyTriEvents have over the last few years become one of the most successful multi-sport event promoters in the North West of England. This is not just down to the work done by our core of devoted people but also due, in large to the outstanding contributions and commitment from our team of volunteers.

Every year athletes, spectators and officials alike express huge appreciation for the dedication and enthusiasm shown by MyTriEvents volunteers. One competitor commented..

“I found everyone to be really helpful and friendly, especially the gentleman who drove me into Clitheroe to fix a broken spoke. Without his help I wouldn’t have bee able to complete the sportive, so I was very grateful.”

With an ever expanding portfolio of events we are always looking to expand our team. What we are looking for are people who are enthusiastic, friendly, and reliable who can help us provide an easy going and professional race atmosphere. If you think you would like to give it a go please contact us, and don’t worry if you have never done anything like this before we’ll explain exactly what you need to do, offer advice and be there to support you.

Roles:

Event registration – Warm, friendly & organised you’ll welcome athletes, sign in, check emergency contact details & issue race bags.

Event parking – Instruct, co-ordinate & direct parking.

Lane Counters – Assisting the swimmers counting the lengths.

Paddlers – Experience paddlers to assist in our open water events, ideally you will hold the Swim Event Safety Award.

Course Marshals – Ensure athletes are going the right way and following the course, help and support anyone who needs assistance.

Transition– Directing and controlling competitors, ensuring they follow the correct race procedures.

Finish Marshall – Removing timing chips, offering congratulations & helping with recovery as required.

Course Feed Stations – Handing out energy drinks, tea, coffee, water … as well as the odd jelly baby.

Benefits:

Our volunteers don’t only create a safe atmosphere for the athletes to compete in they also have a lot of fun doing so. It’s a team effort with lots of camaraderie and a huge sense of accomplishment when it all comes together. In exchange for your time & commitment we offer free race entry to one of our events & if you’re happy to help a couple of times we’ll even throw in a MyTriEvents 2015 technical T-shirt.
