Don’t just take our word for it…
All in all, a great tough wee course, and great to see a good turn out. I always love the atmosphere at events ‘oop north’ – very friendly and plenty of people out with their friends from local tri clubs having good banter and rivalry. The Greenlands Farm was a great venue, and we were well looked after. The tea and tasty flapjack after the race hit the spot! Now time for a quick rest, followed by the Torq team weekend, before getting the last block of training in for the Ironman.

Hi, just replying to your email about feedback on the new course. I thought it was an absolutely fantastic course. The x country aspect to the run was brilliant and the bike course is a real test but with a good mix of good fast stretches. I couldn’t fault it. Also, having a little boy ( 3yrs) I think it’s excellent sat greenlands farm as there’s something to do for the family when I’m out racing. I think the events you do there are brilliant for this reason. It’s hard for family to watch at other events because there’s not much for kids to do.

This years Lancaster duathlon was a new location and the weather was looking rough to say the least. I must admit I was a little apprehensive about what was to come.
However It was the perfect race to start the year with a great location especially for the post race brew and scone.
The run was a great course and all the worry about it being too muddy in the fields was for nothing as it was nice to run a different route and to get off the concrete. I came into transition after the first run in 3rd place, then onto the bike enjoying the great support from plenty of spectators. The first section of the bike to Capernwray was difficult into the wind but the home ride back to Arkholme was lovely and fast with the wind pushing us all the way home. Again I came back into transition in 3rd and after a smooth transition I managed to take second place and enjoyed the final stretch along the canal with the sun shining.
It was a great race with a good location and excellent support from the marshals.
