Start times will be confirmed on race day. With the youngest starting first.
Registration Will be outside the centre clearly marked and open from 4:00pm. At registration the competitor will be given a number and a start time. A timing chip will be allocated on poolside which is to be attached to either ankle and kept on the whole race. An race volunteer will exchange the chip at the end for a race memento.
Transition Will be open to competitors after they have registered. Parents are asked to keep outside transition area. A race volunteer will help with the set up of trainers and any other run equipment the competitors might need. Competitors will NOT be permitted to change in the changing rooms after the swim.
Briefing The competitors will be briefed at poolside and reminded of the distances and rules as well as swim etiquette.
Swim Children must be able to competently swim the distance for their age group without putting their feet down. They can rest at either end but the time starts at the beginning of the swim and ends when they cross the line to finish the Run. There maybe more than 2 people in a lane so competitors are reminded about overtaking etiquette. The first group will start at 5pm. Parents will NOT be allowed on poolside, although they will be able to watch form the viewing area next to the pool. Lane counters will assist the children counting laps and alert them when they have two lengths left by placing a colored float in front of them.
Run Kirkbie Kendal School have kindly offered the field for the run section. The run route is a anti clockwise lap and depending on their age they will complete 1 or more laps. The route will be marked with tape so competitors are unable to go off course.
Non finishers Competitors that retire are reminded to report to the finish. Timing chips must be returned.
Finish Competitors will finish in front of the pool near transition area and receive their race medal.
Results Results will be confirmed as soon as possible and presentation to winners of each age category announced. Full results will be posted online later that evening.
