MyTri encourage all ages to experience the open water and Capernwray Dive Centre is a great venue for an introduction to this fantastic sport.
On the 1st June 10:00 at Capernwray Dive Centre an introduction to open water swimming will take place for younger children.
Younger swimmers new to open water will have the opportunity to listen and take part in a theory session and then swim in the clear waters of Capernwray Dive Centre.
Run by a qualified teacher and level 2 British Triathlon Coach with a passion for swimming the participants will learn drills and skills enabling them to enjoy open water further.
Dates for race events held at Capernwray Dive Centre
7th June, 5th July, 2nd August, 6th September all 19:00 start. Distances vary depending on experience and ability.
We ask that all younger swimmers are supported by a responsible adult and at registration a consent form be signed ensuring that the young swimmer has previously been in open water (out of their depth) and that they have the correct equipment, wet suit, goggles and warm clothing for after the event.
MyTri will provide a swim hat which must be worn. Depending on water temperature it is advised that an extra hat is worn underneath.
