Swim 500m

swim route 148x150 Capernwray Mid Week Sprint Series

An open water swim taking place in the crystal clear waters of Capernwray Dive Centre. The disused quarry is home to divers and sunken treasure. One lap clockwise round the large yellow visible buoys equals 500m. The water safety team guide you round the course with a motor boat floating in the middle of the loop. The Quarry is one of the best open water swimming venues in the North West with water quality at its best. The water is also warmer than many open water venues and very sheltered from the wind an ideal venue for your first open water triathlon.

Bike 20km

The 20km bike course is very scenic course. One lap passing through pretty local villages such as Over Kellet, Arkholme and Capernwray. Good quality minor roads with some gentle climbs and nice descents. The course will be clearly marked with bright florescent signs and marshals posted at various locations. However it is the competitors responsibility to know the course. Competitors are reminded that marshals are unable to stop traffic it is the competitors responsibility to follow and obey the highway code. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.

Run 5km

The 5k run course is flat and easy to follow with a marshal at the turning and signs guiding you the correct way, running alongside the canal for most of its distance. The only decision is what footwear as on a wet day the canal path is slippery.

Race mementos.

Photographs from each event will be available free to download from our FB page with thanks to the talented James Kirby.
